Criminal Record Searching Added to Connecticut Judicial Site

The Judicial Branch of the state of Connecticut recently unveiled a new web service to look-up criminal records with dispositions. The Branch now offers web look-up to docket information for civil, family, criminal, motor vehicle, housing, and small claims cases at www.jud.ct.gov/jud2.htm. Below is a quick overview.

Case look-ups are segregated into four types- civil/family, criminal/motor vehicle, housing, and small claims. For civil/family and small claims cases statewide are available from one to 10 years after the disposition date, depending on location. Search statewide or by location. The criminal and motor vehicle case docket data is available on cases where a disposition or bond forfeiture occurred on or after 01/01/2000.  To search statewide, leave the location field blank. For housing (landlord/tenant) cases, search by name, address, or docket number. Case records are only available from the Hartford, New Haven, New Britain, Bridgeport, Norwalk and Waterbury districts.

Opinions from the Supreme and Appellate courts are available at www.jud.state.ct.us/opinions.htm.
